One of the changes that occur on the face with aging is the lengthening of the distance between the lips and nose. Even though applications such as lip fillers are used to reduce this appearance, they do not solve the problem. In this case, the surgery we prefer is lip lift surgery. The purpose of Lip Lift surgery is to give the face a more youthful appearance by shortening the upper lip distance (the distance between the base of the nose and the upper lip line).

The surgery is most often performed under local anesthesia and takes approximately 30 minutes. Afterwards, it is possible to return to social life without the need for hospitalization with a few small tapes applied to the incision line. After the procedure, it is recommended not to eat solid foods for a few hours and cold application is recommended. Since it is made with dissolvable stitches, it is not necessary to remove stitches, but scar reducing cream is recommended for 1-2 months after the band is removed.

As with all facial surgeries, it takes at least 6 months for the edema to completely subside and take its final shape, and it takes approximately 1 year for the scar to take its final shape.
