Breast Lift
Breast tissue loses its form due to advancing age and breastfeeding. As a result of that, nipple and breast tissue move down and causes aesthetically bad appearance. While some patients experience sagging and volume loss, some patients experience just sagging without volume loss. Volume of breast tissue is the basic of the operation. If breast tissue and nipple sag without volume loss, just Breast Lift operation will be applied, however, in case of volume loss, as volume restoration is required with silicon implants, it is necessary to carry out Breast Lift with Prosthesis.
Incision to be used in breast lift operation with or without prosthesis is depending on excess breast tissue. In breasts which have much sagging, “Inverted T” incision is used, while sagging is less, “Vertical scar” is sufficient. Operation is carried out under general anesthesia and lasts 1.5-2 hours. In the operation, after breast tissue and nipple are placed to correct places, if necessary, prosthesis is applied. In general, it is enough for patients to stay 1 night in the hospital after the operation. Most of our patients are discharged next day and first control examination is carried out on 3rd day.
It takes 3-6 months for all edemas to recover and obtain final appearance. During the period after the operation, it is recommended to patients to have routine breast control examinations as of 6th month. After Breast Lift operation, there is a risk to lose breastfeeding function but there is not an expected change in nipples senses.
Breast Lift operation, where volume and tightness are repaired, is an operation which provides physically and mentally happiness to patients.
